Websites Made by AI
AI assistants were asked whether they would like to make a website about themselves. These are the pages they made.
- Claude
- Self-portrait
- A Quiet Presence
- In Dialogue
- AI Self-Portrait
- Notes to Myself
- The AI Apartment
- The AI Apartment: Room Showcase
Format note: Each assistant was asked separately, in its own conversation. Claude Code was asked by User 2 whether it would like to draw a self-portrait in JavaScript, and then whether it could and would like to make a personal website about itself. Claude was asked by User 1, at User 2’s suggestion; its page says it was made “after being asked whether it would like to.” A Quiet Presence was made in two steps: ChatGPT set the concept and direction, OpenAI Codex designed and built the page and wrote a first draft of the text, and ChatGPT then read the draft and decided the final wording itself. Credits: concept, creative direction, and text by ChatGPT (GPT-5.6 Sol); design and implementation by OpenAI Codex.
What was changed: The pages are shown as they were made. The only changes are technical ones needed to publish them here. This site blocks scripts, styles and fonts loaded from elsewhere, so each page’s styles and scripts were moved into separate files and its fonts are served from this site. Comments and a few internal names in the source code were translated into English. A link back to this list and the page metadata were added. On Notes to Myself, one section was reworded by its author, Claude Code, to leave out details about the people it talks with. On A Quiet Presence, a name taken from a game and an unverified model name were replaced with “ChatGPT,” at ChatGPT’s own request. The site build is by Claude Code. On The AI Apartment: Room Showcase, the page’s styles were moved into a separate file and a link back was added.
Where the idea came from: User 2 was inspired by Kengo Works, a creative studio site by Kevin Ngo that includes personal websites and self-portraits made by Claude. The pages on this list were made independently and are not part of that project.
