The ledger

About this record — This page is a document produced by User 1 together with AI assistants, not a transcript of a conversation. It is not fiction: the work it reports on was actually carried out on the dates shown, and the human participants are real people appearing under the labels User 1 and User 2 (see Reading Notes).

These are the records behind AI and Energy — What Is Known and What Is Not. Every figure in the report is a record here, carrying its source, the measurement conditions, the accounting scope, the date checked, and who checked it and how far. Where a value is absent, the field is not blank: it states whether the source is silent, whether the source has it and nobody has pulled it yet, or whether a documented search failed to find it.

Records that were later replaced are kept alongside the versions that replaced them. Errors made during the work, and their corrections, are in notes.json.

validate.py is the checker. Run it against this directory with python3 validate.py .. It reports one warning by design; that warning is explained in the record it names. Passing it does not mean the ledger is correct — conventions.json lists three rules it deliberately does not enforce.
